Uzbekistan Cyber football Games Association was renamed to the Federation of virtual sports games and cyber football. The new organization, registered by the Ministry of Justice of the country on February 28 this year, will be engaged in popularization of virtual sports games, organization of competitions and championships.
It is not a secret that today cyber sport is gaining popularity rapidly around the world. The history of this virtual sport originated in 1997. It was then when the first cyber Sports League was founded. Today, the most popular types of virtual sports are shooters, fighting games and, of course, sports simulators. It is gratifying that the world's first non-profit non-governmental organization Cyber football Association was established in Uzbekistan. Work of the Association began from participation in Electronic Sports World Cup, where 32 best cyber football players in the world challenged the title of World Champion. In a relatively short period of time, the association managed to achieve great success. During the first months of its work, it has become an official member of the Uzbekistan Football Federation; contracts on mutual cooperation were concluded with all clubs of the Professional Football League. Thus, about 20 football clubs of Uzbekistan included cyber footballers.
In November 2016, the Football Federation approved the Association’s project on establishment of the first professional cyber football league in the world consisting of the highest and the first league. The opening of the first professional cyber football arena for competitions in Uzbekistan - UZ Arena became one of the most striking achievements of the Association.
