The Dushanbe-based Uzbek Embassy to Tajikistan received a letter from Rustam Nazarzoda, head of Tajikistan’s emergency situations committee, thanking Uzbekistan for humanitarian aid sent in response to over 500 snow slides at the beginning of the year, says Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry.
Following President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s order, Uzbekistan’s emergency ministry delivered over 60 tonnes of food, medical supplies, building materials, coal and other first-aid goods.
Mr Nazarzoda also sent a letter of appreciation to Uzbekistan’s emergency ministry, saying: “The people of the Republic of Tajikistan appreciates the solidarity and sincere sympathy in aid during such vast emergency situations on the country’s territory. The aid symbolises not only material goods, but above all the considerable moral support of the neighbourly people, with which we are connected by years of friendship and cooperation.”
