The Legislative chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with the delegation of the National People's Congress of China, headed by Vice Chairman, Secretary-General of the Standing Committee Wang Chen.
January 2, 2017, marks 25 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and China.
Relations with China are underpinned by the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation, as evidenced by the meeting of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhang Detszyan.
Wang Chen was received by the Speaker of the Legislative chamber of the Oliy Majlis N. Ismailov, who noted that inter-parliamentary ties between the two countries originate from the time of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Dozens of delegations from China visited the Oliy Majlis in the past period. Many representatives of the Uzbek Parliament visited China. Regular meetings allowed us to learn about the activities of Supreme state representative authorities of the two countries, to establish working contacts.
Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome and high organisational level of the meeting Wang Chen gave a high evaluation and stressed the success of the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in China.
He said that smart, fast, legal support of the implementation of the reached agreements between China and Uzbekistan should play a key role in the development of inter-parliamentary ties.
During the meeting, the sides discussed other issues of further development of Uzbek-Chinese inter-parliamentary relations.
