The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a Decree "On priority measures to ensure the accelerated socio-economic development of regions". The document aims at the unconditional implementation of adopted regulations and development programmes. It provides for the conduct of cooperative work by bodies of executive and representative authorities on the permanent study of the status of socio-economic development of regions, in order to identify and timely solve urgent problems of the population.
The Decree adopted on proposals of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis, Cabinet of Ministers, Jokargy Kenes of Karakalpakstan and khokimiyats of regions on:
–introduction of a completely new system of organization of work in the field, providing for the division of territories of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions, districts, cities into sectors for integrated socio-economic development;
–assignment of the Prime Minister and his deputies to each region of the Republic. Particular attention will be paid to ensuring accelerated development of the 69 districts, the cities that are most lagging behind in socio-economic terms.
