Great attention is paid to promotion of youth tourism in Uzbekistan, with the Federation of Trade Unions being one of the main promoters of leisure and health of children and adolescents. This year, Federation was allocated 34.3 billion soums for organization of summer camps for schoolchildren, reports Pravda Vostoka (newspaper).
Priority was given to schoolchildren from low-income families, the disabled, children from orphanages. With the assistance of trade unions and Mahalla fund, 600 boys and girls received subsidized vouchers. In accordance with the state program "Year of well-being and prosperity", 4300 children from Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region spent summer in health recreation camps of Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Samarkand and Tashkent regions and the capital.
Over 18,000 children visited museums, theaters, circus, parks and other places of recreation. Over 160 made sightseeing tours to historical sites. 6384 schoolchildren were given books, stationery and sports equipment. Over 10 thousand rural students were awarded with hygiene kits.
In addition, each initiative was implemented in conjunction with state, public and private organizations on the principles of social partnership, which is an important factor in building a strong civil society in our country.
