In 2013 the total capital of commercial banks increased by 25 percent, compared with 2000 – by over 46 times, also the total volume of loans to the real sector of the economy increased by 30 percent.
Liquidity of Uzbek banking system exceeds 65 percent, which is by 2.2 times higher than the internationally accepted "high" rating. Domestic sources account for about 80 percent of the total loan portfolio.
To date, there are 49.7 banking institutions for every 100,000 of adult population, and 1028 bank accounts for 1,000 people, according to international standards this corresponds to "high" rating.
These figures were presented in the report of Uzbek President at the Cabinet of Ministers meeting on the results of socio-economic development in 2013 and the most important priorities of economic program for 2014.
