In 2016, the National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of the Republic of Uzbekistan channeled its loans towards the construction of new and modernization of existing industrial enterprises, their technical and technological re-equipment, towards the accelerated development of the transport sector, utilities and social infrastructure. As of 1 January 2017, the Bank's loan portfolio amounted to over 13 trillion soums, which is 30.4% more compared to the same period last year.
In 2016, 40,9% of financial resources the loan portfolio of the Bank were channeled towards the development of transport and communications, 17% - fuel and energy complex, 4,5% - the construction and production of building materials.
Over the past year the Bank allocated investment loans for a total amount of 2538,8 billion soums. It funded a number of projects aimed at supporting small businesses and private entrepreneurship.
Along with this, since the beginning of the year the Bank issued mortgage loans for young families for a total amount exceeding 31.8 billion soums.
