The Draft Law ‘On Medical Insurance’ is planned for tabling at the Cabinet of Ministers in October 2017, following the Presidential Resolution ‘On Further Private Sector Development in Healthcare’.
The law will:
- regulate medical insurance, ensuring universal coverage and equal rights;
- set out the legal backbone for voluntary and compulsory medical insurance, regulate prices and tariffs, and control medical insurance funds, including the Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund; and
- define income sources for the Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund and develop a preference system.
The law will be enforced by the Finance, Healthcare, Economy, Justice, and Labour Ministries, the State Competition Committee, the Insurance Market Professional Member Association, the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, and the Private Doctor Association.
