A French delegation arrived in Tashkent on June 30 on a business trip which will last until July 4. The purpose of the visit is to discuss the organization and implementation of Near Field Communications (NFC) technology in Uzbekistan.
Today, Uzbek-French ICT business forum entitled "On measures to further develop Near Field Communications technology” was held as part of the visit with the participation of representatives of commercial banks, mobile, urban passenger transport, retail trade companies and the media.
NFC - near field communications technology, which with the help of special chips allows devices (mobile phone and terminal) to exchange small amounts of data. Usually NFC works when two devices touch. Both devices must have a NFC chip and be at a distance less than two and a half inches for secure data transmission, such as information on a plastic card.
Traditionally NFC is associated with mobile payments, but its range of applications is constantly expanding. All NFC devices use NFC in one of two ways: for digital interaction between a mobile phone and another gadget, or as a means to exchange information between devices through contact.
At present NFC based devices allow users to book flights, pay for goods and such popular services as car parking and public transport.
The event participants discussed the prospects of cooperation for the use of NFC in commercial banks in the example of AgroBank, information security aspects when using mobile technologies, introduction of NFC technologyin retail trade in the example of Mega-Planet and Korzinka shopping centers , the capacity of 1NFC technologies in the manufacture of new models of mobile phones together with ARTEL.
The French side shared experiences on the introduction of NFC technologies and held bilateral talks with Uzbek partners.
