These days, the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre named after Alisher Navoi presented a real surprise. The ballet "Le Corsaire" by Adolphe Adam returned to the stage after three years. For the first time, it was played in 1968. Then the famous choreographer Ibrahim Yusupov took the choreography by Marius Petipa as a basis, who prepared the premiere of this ballet in the late 19th century. The directors of the Bolshoi preserved the version of Ibrahim Yusupov, bringing to it new costumes and amazing scenery beauty. And, of course, the cast has been changed - now it's promising young artists.
The ballet "Le Corsaire" was created based on the eponymous poem by Byron, which before Adolphe Adam was transferred to the music scene by other composers. For example, Giuseppe Verdi composed the opera "Le Corsaire" in 1848.
The ballet "Le Corsaire" - a story about love between the pirate Conrad and slave girl Medora. On the way to happiness, heroes had many trials. These were the abduction, and friend’s deceit, and confinement in prison. As always, good and evil centers have been fighting, for which the audience is interesting to observe. The artists themselves are not bored. The choreography in the ballet is quite complicated. But the reward for all the efforts is loud applause.
"Le Corsaire" affects not only by the complex choreographic scenes and dynamic dancing. In this ballet, attention is paid to the images of the characters, a fascinating story and colorful oriental flavor display of the action.
